🇨🇦 A Must-Visit Hidden Gem in Canada: Newfoundland! You truly can’t miss it! After sharing our prep tips in the previous post, today we’re diving into the vibrant, colorful world of St. John’s! As seen in the first photo, this city is built right along the harbor, with rolling hills and slopes that feel a bit like San Francisco—plus, the entire downtown is lined with colorful buildings that ooze charm and character! 🌈🏘️ It’s absolutely delightful, you’ll fall in love at first sight! 🤩🤩🤩 ========== Attractions to Explore: Harbour St, Water St, Duckworth St (Jelly Bean Row) This is where the magic of St. John’s really shines! Spend your time snapping photos of the rainbow-hued houses, browsing cute little shops, and picking up souvenirs, postcards, or fridge magnets to remember your trip. 📸🛍️ A standout spot is Irene‘s Souvenirs—their sign proudly claims they’re the oldest souvenir shop in town, and it lives up to the hype! They have a huge variety of adorable items, and the prices are the most affordable on the street. ✨ Bannerman Park A lovely, laid-back park perfect for unwinding! Grab some snacks or takeout and find a cozy spot to sit, soak up the sunshine, and watch the world go by. It’s a great place to relax between sightseeing—think green lawns, gentle breezes, and that small-town park vibe we all love. 🧺🌳 The Rooms Museum One of the city’s iconic landmarks! The first and second floors are open to explore, and you’ll want to set aside about 2 hours to really take it all in. The highlight? The museum’s rooftop terrace, where you can snap stunning views of the entire cityscape—truly picture-perfect! 🌆📸 Also worth a visit is the Railway Coastal Museum, another popular spot for history buffs and curious travelers alike. 🚂🏛️ The Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist A breathtakingly beautiful church that’s a feast for the eyes! Unfortunately, we couldn’t go inside during our visit, but photos online of its interior are stunning—ornate details and warm light that make it look like a work of art. Even just admiring the exterior is worth the stop! ⛪💫 Quidi Vidi Village A charming harbor village with a cozy, small-town feel—think cute docks, local vendors, and a relaxed atmosphere. Grab a bite to eat, sip on a drink, or wander along the little trails that wind through the area. It’s the perfect spot to spend 1-2 hours soaking up the coastal vibe. 🚤🍻 Whether you’re exploring the waterfront or popping into a local café, it’s pure joy! Signal Hill National Historic Site / Cabot Tower Just a 10-minute drive from downtown, and there’s even parking right at the top—so convenient! From here, you’ll get unbeatable views of all St. John’s: on one side, the bustling city with its colorful rooftops; on the other, the endless, crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. It’s stunningly and an absolute must-visit! ❣️❣️❣️ As seen in photo 4, there are also trails that take you closer to the sea or to historic ruins—spend 1-2 hours hiking, and you’ll be rewarded with even more incredible vistas. 🌊🏙️ Cape Spear Lighthouse / Most Easterly Point in North America North America’s easternmost tip—this is where you have to watch the sunrise over the ocean! It’s a memory you’ll never forget, no regrets at all! ❣️❣️❣️ It’s about a 20-minute drive from downtown, but pro tip: bundle up, because it gets super chilly by the water!
