Find Things to DoFind The Best Restaurants

🇨🇦 My new go-to homestyle Korean restaurant in Downtown Toronto…

Last year I shared about the most underrated Korean spot on Bloor — 📍 Kimchi House It might have a simple name and basic decor, but they serve authentic, huge-portioned, and affordable Korean dishes 🌟‼️ All their soups are amazing. The pork bone soup is still only $13.95 for a big portion! Their samgyetang is also great, and the banchan are always fresh. I revisited recently for one special dish — Yes! I found it! 🎉 The ONLY place in downtown Toronto that serves Kongguksu (soy milk cold noodles). And guess what? In the Korean community, this place is known to have the best version in the city! Summer limited only. Kongguksu is a traditional summer dish in Korea — you either love it or hate it. As a spicy-food lover from Chongqing, I found it refreshing for a few bites, but my partner (big thanks to him for finding this! 🥹) confirmed it’s super authentic. Koreans usually enjoy kongguksu with makgeolli (rice wine) and seafood scallion pancake — so we ordered the haemul pajeon… and it was SO GOOD! Crispy, flavourful, loaded with squid. Highly recommend! 📍 Kimchi House 586 Bloor St W, Toronto The vibe and service are basic, but the flavours are absolutely top-tier. #TorontoFood #KoreanFood
