📍 4071 Shelbourne St #2A, Victoria, BC V8N 5Y1 A dessert shop near Shelbourne Street—Victoria’s main road that’s always under construction 🚧. Perfect for a post-meal sweet treat! The location’s not great, though—it’s not in the busiest area. The shop is small, and it gets a bit noisy when it’s crowded 🥴. The owner clearly has Korean features, and most days, she’s the only one working there. She opens promptly at 2 PM every day except Tuesday, but closing time? Totally up to her! She stops taking dine-in orders at least an hour before closing—only takeout after that. So if you want to go in the evening, better call ahead to check 🤷🏻♀️. 🍧 Watermelon Bingsoo 💰19 Hands down the best bingsoo on the island, in my opinion! The shaved ice is creamy, super fine, and melts instantly in your mouth—not too sweet at all 😋. They always pick great watermelons—fresh and juicy 🍉. One order uses half a watermelon: the flesh is scooped into little balls, and the rind acts as a bowl for the milky shaved ice. The watermelon balls are piled high on top, then drizzled with condensed milk. Refreshing and not cloying—so good! The only catch: watermelon bingsoo is one of the items you can’t take to go—dine-in only 😮💨. Taiyaki Combo (3 pcs.) 💰10 Taiyaki is $4 each, but the combo—3 for $10—is a better deal 💰. There are tons of filling options, both sweet and savory. We went for Injeolmi Red Bean, Custard, and Pizza with Bacon. Injeolmi Red Bean: Classic flavor. The red bean tasted like canned beans mixed with syrup—slightly sweet, and paired with the injeolmi (rice cake), it’s exactly what I expect taiyaki to taste like 🥰. Custard: The custard itself is sweet and rich, and it gets even sweeter when heated 😣. The taiyaki crust helps a bit, but not enough—I probably won’t pick this again. Pizza with Bacon: The filling is bacon and stringy, salty cheese. I was worried the sweet-savory mix would be weird, but it works! Loved this one 👍. #Canada #CanadaFood #VancouverIsland #VancouverDayTrip #Victoria #VictoriaFood #VictoriaDessert #Foodie #LifeSnippets #FoodTour #MyDailyLife #WhatInternationalStudentsEat #RestaurantRecommendation #HiddenGemRestaurant #GlobalFoodSquad #FoodCollector #FoodCheckIn #Bingsoo #Taiyaki #WatermelonDessert
