šØš¦9Toronto Restaurants Iām SO Afraid Will Close Truly Irreplaceable
Early last year, I shared four editions of āToronto Restaurants Iām Terrified to Loseā⦠The final one dropped in February 2024, but little did I knowāthis past year, I discovered even MORE incredible spots I adore and am now scared might disappear š Especially these nine: my ultimate no-substitutions, one-of-a-kind food gems! š“ 1. 1910 La Mexicana The ultimate hidden gem I found! They serve tacos made from meat freshly carved from a whole roasted cowās head š®. Also the only place offering beef eyes and pork stomachāsounds wild, but tastes AMAZING. š“ 2. Taqueria El Pastorcito The ONLY spot in DT where you can get beef tongue tacos four ways š . Honestly, all their tacos are delicious, authentically Mexico City-style, and super affordable. Unbeatable value! š“ 3. Primrose Bagel Co Really good bagel spots are rare in Torontoāand this is hands-down the best artisanal bagel shop (outside chains). No debates allowed š„Æ. š“ 4. Dreyfus An upscale French restaurant that changes its menu almost weekly š·. Itās impossible to recommend a must-try dish because itās always different! Huge respect for the chefās creativity. š“ 5. Takja Torontoās answer to upscale aged Korean BBQ! š„© Their grilled pork is a must-try (mind-blowing flavor)ācouldnāt afford the beef though š . Their house-made banchan is refined, and the seasonal bingsoo (currently matcha red bean!) is a secret highlight. š“ 6. Conejo Negro Specializes in Caribbean, Latin American, and Creole cuisine š¤. Quickly became my top pick for delicious and refined Caribbean food in the city. š“ 7. Barberianās Steak House A classic steakhouse thatās been open for 66 years! š„© The most authentic old-school American-style vibe in Toronto, with a cellar of 10,000+ wines. Absolutely worth a visit. š“ 8. DAM Sandwich Ate it once, havenāt stopped talking about it for a year š. They specialize in grilled meat sandwiches (beef, pork, chicken)āhuge portions, incredible sauces, and a secret spicy kick thatās unforgettable. š“ 9. Pizzeria Badiali Itās so popular that if it ever closed, Torontoās pizza lovers would RIOT š. New York-style slices, nearly 10 flavorsābest eaten hot. Pro tip: avoid peak hours! These arenāt just restaurantsātheyāre culinary institutions. Treasure them, try them, and support them! š #TorontoFood #FoodieAdventure
