🇩🇪 Berlin, Germany • One Perfect Day 🚶‍♀️🌧️

I arrived on the first evening and left early on the third day, so I only had one full day to explore — and the gloomy, drizzly morning totally matched my moody image of Berlin! ☁️🌧️ Here’s the route I followed (refer to Map 1️⃣): World Clock ⏰ → Berlin TV Tower 🗼 → Berlin Cathedral 📸 → Brandenburg Gate 🏛️ → Berlin Philharmonic 🎵 → Checkpoint Charlie 🛂 → East Side Gallery 🎨 → Photoautomat (B&W photo booth) 📼 📍 Best photo spot for the cathedral: Adolph-Diesterweg-Denkmal (Note: Entry to the cathedral interior requires a separate ticket) 🎶 I was lucky to catch the free Wednesday lunch concert at the Berlin Philharmonic (1 PM)! I arrived at 12:20 PM and the steps were already packed — ended up standing the whole time, but it was worth it. That day featured clarinet + piano + viola. Beautiful vibes! They also have paid concerts — check out: 🏨 Accommodation: Generator Berlin Alexanderplatz 5 mins walk from the World Clock 🕒, super close to the metro. I booked a 6-bed female-only dorm with private bathroom. Quiet at night! With Trip.com discounts, it was only £25 for two nights — total steal! 🛌💷 🎫 Transport: I used the BVG Tickets app — super easy with Apple Pay. Buy an ABC zone ticket if going to/from the airport. (Note: Red ticket machines require validation — app is simpler!) 🌭 Food Highlight: Curry61 — famous Berlin currywurst stand near Alexanderplatz. 📍 CURRY61 - Alexanderplatz Sausage + fries = €5.80 🍟🌭 They ask: ketchup or mayo? Spicy or not? (The “spicy” powder is mild though 😅) Very generous with ketchup — a bit salty but tasty! 🚧 Note: There was a BVG (public transport) strike that day — almost everything was cancelled.
