🇩🇪 Bonn Travel Guide | Why I Love Beethoven’s Hometown

It’s also the birthplace of HARIBO — the original gummy candy! 😍 Who else gets it? I’m not really into sweets 🍰, but I absolutely love gummies 🍬. Bonn is a former capital of West Germany, nestled along the Rhine River. It’s a perfect city for a relaxed stopover in Germany 🏙️. You could call it the “City of Beethoven” — you’ll find traces of him everywhere 🎵. If you visit in April, Bonn is also a fantastic cherry blossom destination 🌸. 🚄 Transportation From Cologne or Frankfurt, take the train to Bonn Hbf (approx. 1 hour). 🌈 Attractions 1⃣️ Bonn Minster ⭐️⭐️ A 13th-century Gothic church with one of the tallest spires in the world. It was built with funds raised by citizens! Small and modest — if you want grand, go to Cologne Cathedral. 2⃣️ Cathedral Square ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Home to the bright yellow Old Post Office and a statue of Beethoven, erected on his 75th birthday. 3⃣️ Beethoven-Haus ⭐️⭐️ A small pink building with dark green windows where Beethoven was born. It’s the world’s largest exhibition dedicated to his life, featuring manuscripts, letters, and instruments. 🕙 Open: 10:00–18:00 (closed Tuesdays) 🎫 Ticket: €12 per person 4⃣️ Cherry Blossom Street ⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you come in April, don’t miss Heerstraße — it’s just a 10-minute walk from Bonn Hbf, near Beethoven-Haus! 5⃣️ Bonn City Hall ⭐️⭐️ A Rococo-style building located at Marktplatz, near the Electoral Palace (now the main building of Bonn University). 🍦 Food & Sweets 💚 HARIBO — the original gummy candy! Head to the flagship store near the cathedral. 💚 EisLabor — ranked among the top 10 ice cream shops in the world 🍦! There are 3 locations in Bonn — don’t miss it! #Bonn #TravelGermany #BonnCathedral #GermanyTravelGuide
