During my vacation, I took a train from Leuven and made a short stop in Frankfurt for a day trip. Frankfurt’s compact yet refined city layout is perfect for a one-day adventure! Here’s the route I followed and the classic spots I recommend—relaxing yet highly Instagrammable! 🤩 🗺️ Recommended Route: 1️⃣ Römerberg The red-and-white half-timbered buildings and cobblestone streets make every photo look like a fairy tale 🏰. Don’t forget to sit on one of the benches with the Frankfurt Cathedral in the background—perfect for a stunning shot! ⛪✨ I went around 7-8 AM when it was less crowded and even adjusted the bench for the best angle. You can also capture the Justice Fountain in the frame! ⛲️ 2️⃣ Frankfurt Cathedral Right next to Römerberg, the red bricks and green spire make this cathedral highly recognizable. Step inside to soak in the history and atmosphere~ 3️⃣ Iron Bridge (Eiserner Steg) Just a short walk from the cathedral, this bridge is dotted with love locks and offers romantic river views 💕. Visit at sunrise or sunset for breathtaking photos! 🌅 4️⃣ Goethe House The birthplace of Germany’s literary giant Goethe, preserved with 18th-century furniture and books. It feels like stepping back in time—a must-visit for literature lovers! 📚 5️⃣ Old Opera House (Alte Oper) A classical and elegant building that’s another iconic landmark 🎭. It looks especially majestic at night when lit up—bring your camera for stunning夜景 shots! ✨ 6️⃣ Zeil Shopping Street End your day with some retail therapy! Zeil is packed with brand stores, and I couldn’t resist checking out the German drugstore dm 😆. From luxury boutiques to unique local brands, there’s something for everyone! 🛍️ 🍽️ Food Recommendation: I tried the crispy pork knuckle at Römer Pils Brunnen based on recommendations. This restaurant near Römerberg is perfect after visiting the Iron Bridge in the evening. The skin was golden and crispy, while the meat inside remained tender and juicy—absolutely delicious!
