🇩🇪 Frankfurt Relaxing One-Day City Walk
If you come to Frankfurt, be sure to set aside a day for a city walk 🚶♂️. The attractions here are relatively concentrated and mostly within walking distance. Spend half a day here—no rush, just feel the journey. 🚄 Frankfurt Main Station ✈️ Frankfurt Airport 1️⃣ First Stop: Römerberg (Roman Square) The square is not large, surrounded by many food options. Enjoy a cup of coffee ☕️, relax, and soak in the blue skies, white clouds, and Gothic architecture. I was lucky enough to witness a couple getting married here—sharing their happiness 💑. Recommended to try authentic German sausages 🌭. Food recommendation: Römer Pils Brunnen German sausage platter, suitable for 3 people. Includes sausages, potatoes, and sauerkraut. Very tasty! 2️⃣ Second Stop: Frankfurt Cathedral Just a short walk through a narrow alley from Römerberg leads to the cathedral. A must-visit attraction in Frankfurt 🏰. Free entry, and lighting a candle costs €0.5. 3️⃣ Third Stop: Iron Bridge (Eiserner Steg) Cross the cathedral area, and you’ll reach the Main River. Along the way, you’ll see many mallard ducks and pigeons 🦆🕊—a harmonious coexistence of humans and nature. The iron bridge is not long but is covered with locks 🔒 symbolizing people’s wishes for happiness and fulfillment. 4️⃣ Fourth Stop: Euro Tower Take a short train ride (2 stops) to reach here 🚆. The skyscrapers here stand in sharp contrast to the romantic European style of the old town. Just a quick photo stop 📸. You can then walk to the fifth stop. 5️⃣ Fifth Stop: Goethe House This place feels like a European art and culture museum 🎨. Entry requires a ticket, and the house has three floors showcasing the prevalence of 18th-century European art and culture. On the third floor, you can write free wish notes 💌. A fun detail: Germans love stickers! At the exit, they creatively decorate with ticket stickers 😂. 6️⃣ Sixth Stop: Downtown Shopping Street It’s about a 10-minute walk from Goethe House back to the downtown shopping street 🛍️. You can also take one stop by train to the Opera House. I chose to return to the shopping street for some retail therapy—here you’ll find familiar stores like DM. The rest is similar to shopping malls back home. Summary: 1️⃣ Frankfurt’s attractions are relatively concentrated and easy to explore. 2️⃣ This city is not meant for rushing but for feeling the journey—everywhere exudes relaxation and artistry. 3️⃣ While some say Germany is a food desert, I found the cuisine quite adaptable and satisfying, especially for those with a Northeastern Chinese palate 😋. 4️⃣ Germany is full of wasps and pigeons 🐝🕊, showcasing a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. 5️⃣ It’s common to see people enjoying a glass of white wine 🍷 with friends outdoors. Germany is very friendly to foreigners 🌍. Restaurants offer English menus, though the only difference is that the menus don’t have pictures—only ingredients listed. Translation apps can easily solve this. Both card and cash payments are widely accepted 💳💶. #Germany #GermanTravel #Frankfurt #FrankfurtCathedral #GoetheHouse #IronBridge #MainRiver
