🇩🇪 Germany | Leipzig Travel Guide 🏛️🎶

▪️ Leipzig, the largest city in Saxony, Germany, was called "Little Paris" by Goethe. Though considered a major German city, it's compact enough to explore in one day. Its long history is well worth discovering, and most attractions are concentrated in the charming Old Town. 🎓 Universität Leipzig (Leipzig University) Founded in 1409, it's one of Europe's oldest universities. The library is particularly beautiful! 📚 ⛪ Thomaskirche (St. Thomas Church) A statue of Bach stands in front. He worked here for 27 years as the choir director until his death. The St. Thomas Choir remains one of the world's finest. Bach is also buried here. 🎵 🏛️ Altes Rathaus / Stadtgeschichtliches Museum (Old Town Hall / City History Museum) The historic town hall now houses a museum detailing Leipzig’s rich past — highly recommended for history lovers! 🏢 Rathaus Leipzig (New Town Hall) An impressive building — perfect for a photo stop. ☕ Zum Arabischen Coffe Baum (Arabian Coffee Tree Café) Once Europe’s second-oldest café (opened 1711), it was a favorite of Schumann, Bach, Liszt, Goethe, Schiller, and even Napoleon. Sadly, it has been closed since 2019 for renovations (some say permanently), but it’s still worth passing by. 📍Kleine Fleischergasse 4 🍖 Auerbachs Keller (Auerbach's Cellar Restaurant) Built in 1525, this is where Goethe often dined during his studies. It's the only real-life location featured in his masterpiece Faust 🎭 — making it a cultural landmark. 📍Grimmaische Straße, Mädler Passage 2-4 🕑 Mon-Thu: 17:00-22:00 | Fri-Sun: 12:00-22:00 (Sun until 21:00) ▪️ For panoramic views of Leipzig, head to Panorama Tower near the university. If you have an extra day, don’t miss Leipzig Zoo 🐯 — one of Europe’s oldest (opened 1878), featuring a remarkable simulated rainforest. #Leipzig #LeipzigZoo #Germany #TravelGuide 🇩🇪✨
