🇩🇪 Heidelberg Food Guide | Must-Try Eats on Hauptstraße
Korean | Soban Restaurant – A bit pricey, but their GAL BI JJIM (braised short ribs, Figure 1) is the best! 🥘 Spicy, flavorful, and generous on the meat. (Service can be a bit meh though 😬) ———————————————— Vietnamese | Saigon Sonne – Their roasted duck rice 🦆 and curry rice 🍛 are amazing! Pho is just okay, not the highlight. ———————————————— Matcha & Tofu Tasche – Their matcha drinks are fantastic, especially the strawberry matcha blend 🍓🍵. For tofu bags, try the Bulgogi Beef or Mango Salmon options – so good! ———————————————— Cafe Extrablatt – Their cocktails are delicious and generously poured 🍹… you might turn into a water buffalo! 🐃 ———————————————— Eis Cafe – While Gelato Go does great fruit flavors, Eis Cafe has refreshing mint chocolate gelato 🍃🍫. Plus, their pistachio flavor is only €2 – €0.50 cheaper than elsewhere! Most gelato spots on Hauptstraße charge around €2 per scoop. 🍧 ———————————————— Moes Roadhouse Bismarckplatz – A Simpsons-inspired themed bar 🍔🍺, serving huge American-style burgers. I tried the Hall of Fame Burger with cheesy fries – delicious! They also serve cocktails. ———————————————— German | Löwenbräu Heidelberg – The place for giant pork knuckles! 🍖 Portions are huge, so bring friends if you’re dining with girls. Must-order side: Sauerkraut (pickled cabbage) to cut through the richness. ———————————————— Italian | L'Osteria Heidelberg Hauptstraße – Also known for big portions! Their thin-crust pizzas are enormous and delicious 🍕, but the pasta is just average. ———————————————— Japanese | Min Ramen Bar – A bit on the salty side, but the ramen is decent 🍜 and fairly priced. Always crowded, so expect a wait! ———————————————— Hauptstraße has all kinds of cuisine, but gelato shops are everywhere… it’s basically gelato heaven! 🍦😇 #Heidelberg #HeidelbergFood #GermanCuisine #FoodReview #HeidelbergTravel
