It’s a beautiful space with some decent proper ramen, decent service.
If you’re looking for japanese style hearty ramen in a beautiful restaurant, this is it for 10-20 euro per person, this is the right spot! Add drinks and dessert and Appetizer and you’re looking at 30 per person for a really nice meal.
I’ve been here a couple times. The first time I had the udon with veggie kakiage, with added bok choy, and shared the tofu salad and takoyaki with friends as Appetizer. To drink I enjoyed the yuzu lemonade (sadly they had no matcha drinks in stock). The udon flavour was clean and simple and I liked that the veggie kakiage was served on the side, nice and crunchy, not in the broth. I wished it was veggie tempura, though. The tofu salad was fresh and yummy and the takoyaki were small but good with an octopus piece in each ball. It tasted as good as Japanese food I’ve had in Toronto.
My friends enjoyed their chicken-chashu and chashu spicy miso ramen and shio ebi ramen. The portions of the chicken chashu and chashu spicy miso ramen were particularly generous. I think it you’re not super duper hungry, the regular size is enough.
I also went in the summer and got the tofu spicy miso dipping ramen, with bok choi. It was delicious and perfect for summer.
Looking forward to my...
Read moreGood food but slow service. Wanted to get a quick ramen. Didn't have reservation. Was there at around 18:35 and got in at around 19:45. Even the people who reserved a table had to wait for at least 5 to 10 min before getting their table. The guy waiter was responsive and quick. Whereas the lady waitress (I assume she is the main waitress because she is the only person with the ordering phone thingy) seemed quite slow, chatting with guests, walked straight pass me despite noticing that I was ready to order (she avoided eye contact with me as she was walking pass, or maybe I was very unnoticeable). She looked very elegant sure but please train her to be quicker. Otherwise the food was quickly delivered and tasted nice. I had a bowl of kara miso ramen (tokotsu was not available somehow) and finished it within 15 min. Not sure if that 15 min is worth the...
Read moreI'm a little conflicted on how to rate this. Quite alright for German standards, but still nothing to write home about. The broth (tonkotsu) is not bad, but could be richer. The Chashu was a nice big piece, but a little hard to the bite; I also couldn't quite taste the marinade, same for the egg. The noodles were too soft for Japanese standards. I had the kara miso broth, and as they say in their FAQ, it's merely "European hot" - wish you could choose your spice level, as you often can in Japan. I liked that they used nori and actual menma. The service was fine. All in all, if this was in Asia, I couldn't give more than three stars, but I realize you can't expect anything more over here. Also, the place is constantly packed and even has people waiting their turn outside, so the customer seems to...
