🇩🇪 Kassel – Wilhelmshöhe Park Visit Guide

After leaving Wilhelmshöhe station, take tram line 4 🚊 – make sure you’re heading in the right direction! You’ll be able to see the Hercules Monument towering on the distant hill (refer to Figure 1). Take the tram heading left and ride it all the way to the end. Since it was Wednesday, I transferred to bus line 23 🚌, which also goes to the final stop – right at the mountain top! After a short walk, I reached the back of the castle 🏰. When I turned around, I was greeted with a breathtaking panoramic view of the city – absolutely stunning! 🌄 I had intentionally chosen a water display day 💧, but arrived too early. Since the water show was still over two hours away, I decided to slowly make my way downhill, taking photos along the way. Every turn offered a new and beautiful perspective 📸. I’d recommend heading directly to the top around 2:00 PM if possible. The water release starts at 2:30 PM – you can leisurely walk down while enjoying the views. When I reached the foot of the mountain, I heard the alarm from above – the water had started on time! Even from a distance, I could see a white stream flowing slowly down the steps. It must be truly magnificent up close! 💦 You really don’t need a map while walking downhill – just follow the path, and you’ll pass by all the major sights 🗺️. I skipped the museum due to tiredness, which was a bit of a pity. I continued all the way down, followed the road to tram line 1 🚋, and took it back to the train station. If you arrive early, another option is to take tram line 1 from the station and walk up from the base – though this requires good stamina, especially with all those steps at the end! 💪 #Kassel #WilhelmshohePark #HerculesMonument
