🇩🇪 Autumn Trip Recommendation – Kassel 🍂
I rarely do travel recommendations, but after visiting Kassel, I just have to rave about it—its beauty is truly unique. Here’s what I posted on my social media: “The scorched yellow fields lie silent, while the murmur of flowing water echoes through time. In this long migration, it prays—for those rooted in earthly soil, and all beings beneath the ground.” ✍️🌾💧 Our itinerary: We started at Kassel Hbf (main station), took Bus 52 to Druseltal, then transferred to Bus 22 to Herkules (the Hercules Monument) 🚌🗿. Right near the Bus 22 stop, there’s a charming countryside restaurant 🍽️. I highly recommend the pork chops or the €16 menu with salmon + potato pancakes 🥔🐟. Their side dishes are refined—classic German ingredients but with rich flavors and thoughtful preparation. After eating, we walked uphill to the Hercules statue. In front of it lies the grand cascading water basin. From there: Turning right leads you into Wilhelmshöhe Park (absolutely stunning! 😍🍁) Going straight takes you to the water features and a museum (which closes at 5 PM—I took a quick peek and it seemed fairly small) 🏛️⏰. A few tips: Phone signal is weak up here, and Google Maps doesn’t show full transit info 📵. Use the DB Navigator app for buses/trams. Some tram stops aren’t even on DB—when in doubt, just follow the crowd! 🚋👣 It gets quite chilly on the hill, especially with morning fog ❄️🌫️. I recommend arriving after 1 PM and leaving around 5. If you’re staying overnight, you can enjoy a later departure 🌆. #LifeInGermany #StudyInGermany ✨#Kassel #AutumnTravel #HiddenGems #GermanyDiaries
