🇩🇪 Leipzig Day Trip
Start from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main station) – it’s just a short walk or one S-Bahn stop to Markt 🚶♀️🚆. 3 minutes away is the City History Museum (Stadtgeschichtliches Museum Leipzig), located in the Old Town Hall. ✅ Lockers available | ✅ Free toilets | ✅ Free audio guide The museum covers Leipzig’s rich history—not just famous musicians 🎵, but also local trade, religion, art, and politics. The first floor focuses on early history, while the second floor covers modern times. It’s not only FREE but also incredibly well-curated! You can even climb two narrow staircases to see old meeting and performance balconies 🏛️. If you’re not super into classical music, you can skip the Bach Museum—this place gives you a full picture of Leipzig in about 2+ hours ⏳. Had lunch at Auerbachs Keller 🍽️, then walked through Mädler-Passage to grab ice cream at Goldhelm 🍦. 😴 Carb coma → emergency 1.5-hour nap at the hotel 🙃 Woke up refreshed and took the tram to St. Thomas Church ⛪. Walked to St. Nicholas Church (Nikolaikirche) – photos inside require a €2 fee (shop payment). The interior is unique! Saw some people sneak pics… low-key regret not taking any 📸. Strolled over to Leipzig University 🎒 – the campus vibe here feels even stronger than Heidelberg’s. So jealous! Grabbed a €3.90 Thuringian sausage sandwich 🌭 for an early dinner and checked out a shopping mall (way better than Heidelberg’s tbh 🛍️). Ended the day wandering around Leipzig city center near the New Town Hall 🏰 before hopping on the tram back to the hotel. #LifeInGermany #StudyInGermany #TravelGermany #Leipzig ✨🇩🇪
