🇩🇪 Nuremberg: A City That Shines Even on Gloomy Days ☁️✨
Nuremberg earns my highest praise for German cities: It’s beautiful even in gray weather! Most cities (looking at you, Rhine & Main rivers) only charm under sunshine—but Germany’s winters are 90% clouds. So far, only Nuremberg & Dresden pass my "gloom-proof" test. 😅 ⚡ Highlights & Lowlights 🏰 Imperial Castle of Nuremberg View from the top = Postcard-worthy, rain or shine (Photo 1 📸). Missed the guided tour, but no regrets—the panorama spoke for itself. 🎨 Albrecht Dürer’s House Cool trivia: His self-portraits & woodcuts are fascinating. But… Most "original" works here are copies (the real ones are in Vienna/Munich). If they’re passing off Photo 8 as real, that’s art fraud! 🚨 ☕ Survival Café After freezing walks & closed shops (thanks, Bavarian piety!), stumbled upon a cozy spot with decent coffee & wraps. Heart + body warmed! ❤️🔥 🚂 Regensburg Detour (1hr RE Train) Why? Historic name, but… underwhelming. Only 2 sights: 1️⃣ St. Peter’s Cathedral – Gorgeous Gothic gloom (dark interiors, intricate stained glass). 2️⃣ Stone Bridge – Skipped it (too tired), but later learned it has cool legends. Verdict: The city felt patchily rebuilt (odd, since it wasn’t heavily bombed?). Maybe summer saves it? 💡 Travel Truths ✔ Avoid Dec 24-25 – Everything’s closed, even churches (theoretically). ✔ Google Maps lies – Always check official websites for hours. ✔ Winter travel = Pack patience & thermal layers. #GermanyDiaries #Nuremberg #Regensburg #Bavaria #TravelFailsButStillWins
