🇩🇪 One-Day Trip Guide to Kassel, Germany (Part 1)
Route: Kassel (Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe Station) → Check in at IntercityHotel Kassel → Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe → GRIMMWELT Kassel → Orangerie 🚍 Public Transport in the City: Google Maps isn’t very reliable in Kassel for public transit — it doesn’t show the specific bus or tram lines needed to reach your destination. Highly recommend downloading the local transport app: NVV Mobil. You can still use Google Maps for walking directions. 🏨 Accommodation: I chose IntercityHotel near Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe Station. It’s relatively close to the park, but the area around the station looks a bit rundown and doesn’t have many dining options. 🌳 Wilhelmshöhe Park is free to enter. You can either: Walk from the bottom to the top and take a bus back, or Take a bus to the top first and then walk downhill ⬇️. I chose the second option. Once you reach the hilltop, you’ll see one of the park’s highlights: the waterfall and fountain show 💦. The official website provides detailed bus routes. To go directly to the top, take Tram 4 to Druseltal, then transfer to Bus 22 or 23 to Herkules. 📅 Note: The water show only takes place on Wednesdays and Sundays in the afternoon. 🗺️ Suggested Route: Google Maps clearly marks the recommended route (Station 1, 2, 3…). You can follow that. 👟 Other Tips: Make sure to wear comfortable shoes — you’ll be walking a lot, and some paths are steep. Be careful if you have knee issues! ⏱️ Time Needed: Half a day. #LifeInGermany #LifeInEurope #DailyLife #StudyInGermany
