🇩🇪 One-Day Trip Guide to Kassel, Germany (Part 2)
GRIMMWELT Kassel → Park Karlsaue → Orangerie Kassel is a relatively lesser-known city, but it was home to the Brothers Grimm for a significant part of their lives 🏰📖. While they’re famous for Grimm’s Fairy Tales, their greater contribution was actually to German linguistics—they began compiling the first German dictionary, though by the time of their deaths, they had only completed entries from A to F. If you’re in Kassel, I think GRIMMWELT is definitely worth a visit! 🎟️ Ticket: €10 for adults ⏱️ Duration: About 1 hour 🎒 The museum entrance has free lockers, but you’ll need a €1 coin to lock them (you get it back when you retrieve your belongings). So if you’re carrying a bag, make sure to have a coin handy! The museum isn’t very large and isn’t too crowded. The exhibition route is cleverly designed from A to Z 🅰️➡️🅿️, but unfortunately, most content is only in German. Since I don’t speak German, I could only skim through quickly. There are also special temporary exhibitions. I went in early August and happened to catch the IMAGINARIUM exhibition 🪄—a whole section filled with puppets, whimsical sets, and objects that made me feel like I’d stepped into a fairytale! It’s very child-friendly 👧🧒. This exhibition runs until October 13, 2024. The area around GRIMMWELT is also quite scenic. Not far from the museum lies the expansive Park Karlsaue, which features the beautiful Orangerie castle 🏛️ (though I didn’t go inside). The park has vast green lawns, few people, and is perfect for a relaxing stroll or photos 📸✨. You can easily walk from GRIMMWELT to the park using Google Maps. #LifeInGermany #LifeInEurope #TravelGermany #TravelGuide
