Just a 30-minute train ride from Munich, Landshut is the perfect weekend getaway in Southern Germany 🚄✨. This charming small city has so much character — nothing like the repetitive vibe of big cities. Definitely worth a half-day trip! From Landshut Hbf, just cross the bridge to reach the bus hub. You can either take a bus or enjoy a 30-minute walk to the city center — easy and scenic. 🏰 Trausnitz Castle Built in 1204 by Duke Ludwig I of Bavaria, this hilltop castle is incredibly well-preserved. Climb a few hundred steps (not too steep!) made of red earth, and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into the Middle Ages. The view from the top overlooks the whole town and the Isar River — absolutely stunning and super photogenic! 📸🌄 🛍️ Main Shopping Stree After coming down from the castle, you’ll end up right at Landshut’s main pedestrian street. Lined with colorful Southern German-style houses, cute churches, cozy restaurants, and bookstores, it’s simply lovely! I randomly tried a €5 gelato — and it was amazing! 🍦 The town is quiet, the people are friendly, and everything feels like it’s straight out of a fairy tale 🧚💫. 🚉 How to get there: Take trains RE 2, RE 3, or RE 25 from Munich Hauptbahnhof.
