🇩🇪 What to Eat in Bremen 🍽️😅
1️⃣ Schüttinger Gasthausbrauerei A super popular spot — even at 10 PM it was packed! I tried the Knipp, a Bremen specialty. Honestly… it was just okay. It’s a patty made from minced beef and oats, pan-fried till crispy. The combo didn’t really work for me — kinda like fried oatmeal 🥴. Came with two pickles to cut the richness. ⭐️⭐️✨ 2️⃣ ALEX Bremen Domshof A café next to the weekend market with four floors — the top offers a nice view of the old town square 🏛️. Their breakfast deal (cake + coffee) is around €7. The red velvet cake was mediocre… fell apart at the touch 🍰💔. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3️⃣ Bremer Ratskeller A historic wine cellar beneath Bremen’s City Hall — once the largest in Europe! 🍷🕰️ Very atmospheric, with giant barrels stacked along the walls. Opens at 12 PM — weekday lunch menus are good value. I tried Labskaus, a Northern German “delicacy”… 🫣 It’s minced salted beef, beetroot, and veggies, steamed and topped with two fried eggs, pickles, and herring. Let’s just say… it looks how it tastes 💀. The beef loses all its flavor — you mostly taste potato, beet, and pickled fish. Their wine is great though! I had a sweet white — very refreshing 🍸✨ (a bit pricey). ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (for the wine and vibe!) 4️⃣ Bar Recommendations from a Local Met a friendly German guy who highly recommended these spots — I didn’t go, but here you go 🍻: Wiener Engel WeinCafé - Bremen Alexander von Humboldt If you’ve been, let me know how they are! 👇 An adventure in eating (and surviving!) Bremen’s traditional dishes 😂🧭 #Bremen #EuropeanFood #LocalEats #DarkCuisine #FoodDiary
