🇫🇷 Lyon | A Must-Visit in France: Hometown of The Little Prince
For foodies, Lyon is incredibly appealing! Not only does it boast countless Michelin-starred restaurants, but it’s also known as the culinary heart of France 🥳—and, of course, the hometown of The Little Prince 🤴 My fun travel vlog is in the previous post—here’s the guide! 🚗 Transportation within the city: Tickets can be bought at metro stations 🚉. A single ticket costs €2, and a 24-hour ticket is €6.5. My friend and I bought a family ticket, but each time we entered the station, only one person could pass through. We never figured it out by the end 😭 🌈 One-day itinerary suggestion: Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière → Gallo-Roman Theatre → Vieux Lyon (Old Town) → Saône River → Place Bellecour → Fresque des Lyonnais → Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon → Parc de la Tête d’Or 🗺️ Must-visit attractions: Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière Perched on the hillside on the right bank of the Saône River, it’s an iconic landmark of Lyon, blending Byzantine and medieval styles. Gallo-Roman Theatre One of France’s oldest theaters, with two venues (large and small). It’s a great spot to watch the sunset and soak up the sunshine 😍 Vieux Lyon (Old Town) Preserving its 15th-17th-century appearance, you can wander along the stone-paved streets and experience the ancient street scenes! Place Bellecour Europe’s largest red earth square, with a statue of Louis XIV at its center and a Ferris wheel 🎡 Parc de la Tête d’Or One of France’s largest urban parks, with an English-style design. On sunny days, it’s perfect for a stroll and soaking up the sun ☀️ There’s also a lake, ideal for evening jogs 😉 Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon Housing works by masters like Picasso and Dufy—free for those under 26! Fresque des Lyonnais Featuring 24 historical figures from Lyon, including Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (author of The Little Prince) and the Lumière brothers! 🥢 Unfortunately, I didn’t find any favorite food this time—almost all restaurants were closed the day I visited 🥹 #Lyon #LyonLife #LyonTravel #LyonGuide #StudyInLyon #CastleHopping #FrenchCastles #DayTripsFromLyon
