🇫🇷 Lyon | Recommended Citywalk Routes!
As one of France’s major cities, Lyon is perfect for travel! It’s a city of gourmet food, cinema, and even the Little Prince 🤴 It’s recommended to buy a 1-day or 2-day transport ticket – it covers the metro, buses, and the funicular to Fourvière Hill and the Roman Theatre. You can walk up and down the hill, but the funicular really saves energy 💪 🚶 Route: 1️⃣ Place des Terreaux 🌳 The square in front of the city hall, home to the Bartholdi Fountain and Lyon Museum of Fine Arts. There’s even a "Mona Lisa" photo spot nearby The museum has a rich collection, plus Chinese guides (though not fully comprehensive). 2️⃣ Place Bellecour 🏛️ A huge square with a statue of Louis XIV and the Little Prince statue 🐺. You can see Fourvière Basilica in the distance, and there are plenty of restaurants and shopping streets nearby. 3️⃣ Vieux Lyon (Old Town) 🏘️ Cross the bridge from Place Bellecour, and you’ll quickly reach the Old Town metro/funicular station. Visit Saint-Jean Church ⛪! The old town is charming with cobblestone streets, colorful houses, traditional Bouchon lyonnais restaurants 🍷, Little Prince shops, puppet museums, and cinema museums. 4️⃣ Basilique de Fourvière ⛪ Take the F2 funicular from Old Town. Its exterior and interior are stunningly ornate, and there’s a platform at the back with panoramic views of Vieux Lyon 🌆. 5️⃣ Roman Theatre Ruins 🏟️ Walk from the basilica or take the F1 funicular from Old Town. These ancient ruins host performances in summer evenings 🎭! 📖 If you have extra time: Hunt for giant murals in Croix-Rousse Explore traboules (hidden passageways once used by silk workers) Foodies, check out Marché Paul Bocuse near Part-Dieu Station 🥐 Drop your recommendations in the comments – I’ll visit next time! #Europe #France #FranceTravel #Lyon #CityWanderPlan
