🇫🇷 Lyon French Cuisine: The Bouchon I Bring All My Friends To

🇫🇷 Lyon Bouchon: Daniel & Denise (My Top Pick Over Bouchon Tupin!) On Xiaohongshu, Bouchon Tupin gets a lot of recommendations—I’ve tried it too, but I love Daniel & Denise even more. 🌲🌲 🌹How much do I love it? Let’s just say I brought two groups of good friends and my parents here within a month (at this point, I feel more Lyonnaise than the locals. Everyone who’s been says it’s amazing! 🥖 Starters - Pâté en croûte : My absolute favorite! It’s one of the best pâtés en croûte in Lyon (I’ll share others in future posts).🌌🌌 - Os à moelle rôti et poêlée d’escargots :Roasted bone marrow + snails. I already love these two ingredients, so this dish is totally addictive—pair it with bread, and it’s perfection!🗾 🥩 Mains One big reason I love this spot? The fried potato slices that come with the mains are incredible!🏙️ 🌩️- Quenelle : A classic Bouchon main—everyone needs to try it! It’s fish dumplings with lobster sauce, plus a bit of mushrooms and écrevisse (a type of freshwater crustacean that tastes like a cross between river shrimp and crawfish). Trust me, it’s amazing! - Tête de veau : Veal head. The portion is generous, and the meat is super tender—but it can get a bit rich towards the end.🌈🌈 If you want to try it, ordering it as a starter might be better!👍👍 - Other mains I’ve tried: A large pork platter , lamb shoulder —both delicious! The salmon, though, was just average.🍆🍆 Note: Many of these are seasonal—they’re usually listed on the blackboard or mentioned by the server when ordering. You have to be lucky to catch them!🍞 🍮 Desserts Honestly, the desserts here are just so-so… And I’m usually too full after the mains anyway. If I get anything sweet, it’s just sorbet to help digest 🍣 📍 Locations & Tips - It has 3 branches, all awarded a Michelin Plate—and I’ve been to every one👣 - My preference ranking: Saint-Jean > Croix-rousse > Créqui - Reservations are a must—book in advance on their official website!💞💞 #France #StudyInFrance #Lyon #LyonFood #HiddenGemRestaurant #FoodExploration #DailyEats
