🇫🇷 Stepping into a Fairy Tale | Travel Guide to Strasbourg & Colmar

During my May Day trip to Paris, I also visited Strasbourg and Colmar. I’ve always had a soft spot for European towns, and these two cities fulfilled all my fantasies of a fairy-tale world! ✨ Transportation: Paris → Strasbourg: 2-hour train ride (departs only from Paris Est station — don’t go to the wrong station!). Strasbourg → Colmar: Only 20 minutes by train. A single ticket allows you to take any train on the same day. ✨ Itinerary Tips: Strasbourg: As the seat of the European Parliament, it blends French romance with German precision. Here you’ll find luxury brands and Michelin restaurants. Colmar: More colorful and photogenic, but smaller — a day trip is enough. If you only have one day, choose Strasbourg; with two days, you can explore both! ✨ Attractions: Most sights are within walking distance, except Strasbourg’s European Parliament (take a bus). Both towns are incredibly scenic — every corner is picture-perfect! Strasbourg Must-Sees: Cathedral (stained glass is breathtaking — visit both day and night!) Petite France Barrage Vauban European Parliament (free entry) Colmar Highlights: La Petite Venise The Fishmonger District (great photo spot 📸) Marché Couvert Colmar (charming market) Au Vieux Pignon (a beautiful gift shop) Saint-Martin Church ✨ Food Recommendations: In Strasbourg, I booked Les Funambules (1 Michelin star) — much better value than Parisian Michelin restaurants! Also tried Saint-Sepulcre — their seasonal white asparagus was incredibly fresh. Highly recommend both! #SoulAndBodyOnTheRoad #TravelFrance #Strasbourg #Colmar #ViewsFromMyJourney
