The 5 euro entry fee is definitely worth it, as the museum provides enlightening insights into Bartholdi, Colmar, and the region. Located in the birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi, which was bequeathed to the town in 1907, the museum spans three levels dedicated to this iconic 19th-century artist, known for creating the Statue of Liberty and the Lion of Belfort. Inaugurated on November 18, 1922, it houses an impressive collection of sculptures, paintings, drawings, photographs, sketches, and models.

Recognized as a Museum of France, the building was awarded the "Maisons des Illustres" label by the Ministry of Culture and...

Small house of where August Bartholdi was born and grown up. Many things upstairs got nothing to do with Bartholdi family though and just represent some alsasien pieces of art of later times. As to the works of Bartholdi - they are impressive enough. But many have just few different copies of various sizes. So all in all it's not that much. No other language but French on exhibition, so if you are a foreign tourist, be ready to understand nothing and just try to have your own imagination of what this or that is. Closed from Dec 29 until March 1....
