๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง 2-Day Leicester Travel Guide

Originally planned a trip to Morocco ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ, but plans changed last minute ๐Ÿฅฒ. Decided to explore Leicester instead โ€“ no itinerary, no plan, just hopped on a train ๐Ÿšž and arrived! When I first got to Leicester, it felt pretty quiet. Stayed at an Airbnb with a great location โ€“ not too far from the train station or the city center. Contacted the host a few times, and everything went smoothly ๐Ÿ“ž. 1๏ธโƒฃ Day 1 โ€“ Arrival Got to Leicester in the evening, so after grabbing dinner outside, I headed back to rest. The Airbnb was okay location-wise, but nothing special โ€“ and not cheap either ๐Ÿ’ธ. Would recommend hotels for better service and cleanliness, especially if youโ€™re not fully prepared! ๐Ÿจ 2๏ธโƒฃ ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Leicester City Center Spent the second day exploring the city center. Leicester has surprisingly low prices! Went into Flannels โ€“ everything was on sale ๐Ÿ˜‚. Almost every store had discounts, even cheaper than online! Shopping, food, and stays are more affordable here compared to most UK cities. Itโ€™s like a giant outlet, but without big luxury brands ๐Ÿ›๏ธ. Had dinner at a highly-rated Turkish restaurant ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ (tagged in the photo), but it was just okay. Personally prefer Liverpoolโ€™s lamb chop spot โ€“ will share a Liverpool guide next time! The service and atmosphere were nice, though. 3๏ธโƒฃ ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Abbey Park Woke up to drizzling rain on the third day ๐ŸŒง๏ธ. Iโ€™d packed summer clothes expecting warm weather, but ended up shivering in the cold ๐Ÿฅถ. Pro tip: always check the weather before coming to the UK! Rain is common โ€“ best to travel between June and September for more sun and less chill ๐ŸŒž. Headed to Abbey Park and passed by epic graffiti walls ๐ŸŽจ โ€“ common in the UK, but the ones here were especially photogenic ๐Ÿ“ธ. The park itself had a beautiful Chinese garden vibe โ€“ wouldโ€™ve been stunning in summer! Saw lots of ducks ๐Ÿฆ†, swans ๐Ÿฆข, and great spots for picnics or camping ๐Ÿ•๏ธ (too bad it was raining!). 4๏ธโƒฃ ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Haute Dolci Dessert Shop ๐Ÿฎ On the way back from Abbey Park, stopped at this gorgeous dessert cafรฉ decorated with eternal roses ๐Ÿ’. Thought it might be overhyped, but it brought tears to my eyes ๐Ÿ˜ญ โ€“ the desserts were amazing! Great vibe, super friendly staff โ€“ 5-star recommend! ๐ŸŒŸ #Leicester #UKTravel #BudgetTravel #AbbeyPark #DessertLover #TravelUK #HiddenGems
