๐ฌ๐ง๐ฟ 5 years in Newcastle | A favorite sunset ๐ spot to zone out ๐ฅฐ
I've always loved the city of Newcastle in the UK ๐ฌ๐ง๐ฅน It's far from the hustle and bustle of London ๐, the annoying rainy season in Manchester, and the windy and humid weather in Edinburgh ๐ง๏ธ. After living in this city for 5 years, all I want to say is ๐ซถ: the beauty of Newcastle can only be understood by those who have lived here ๐๏ฝ Every time I'm upset, I'll definitely take a walk along the river ๐ถ๐ปโโ๏ธ. A romantic encounter with the sunset ๐ will make all my troubles disappear ๐. Here are my long-hidden favorite spots: 1๏ธโฃ Riverside Compared to the classic Quayside, I, as a senior student, prefer hiking to more remote and less crowded places, all the way to the end of the fence. It takes about 40 minutes to walk and 20 minutes to run. You can see Costco on the opposite side! The whole way is lined with trees ๐ณ and the riverbank. This is definitely my secret spot for chasing the sunset alone ๐ซถ๐. It's beautiful in every season. โ ๏ธ However, you need to leave as soon as it gets dark, after all, it can be dangerous when there are few people. โ ๏ธ The street lights at night are not very bright. 2๏ธโฃ Leazes Park It's right next to the football stadium ๐๏ธ Newcastle United/St James Park. Whether it's summer or winter โ๏ธ, the small lake here has a great atmosphere. There's a basketball court ๐, you can have a picnic with friends ๐งบ, and you can watch cows and sheep grazing on the grassland. There's a amusement park in summer ๐ and a night light show in winter. It's a very romantic place. Similarly, be sure to leave before nightfall, because there was a stabbing incident here in 2024. 3๏ธโฃ City Stadium It's close to the Northumbria University campus. My previous dormitory was very close to here. When I was under great pressure from studying ๐, I would come here for a run ๐๐ป. Watching others walk their dogs or hold hands for a walk made me feel so happy! There are many local students living in this area, and there are also many well-known local breakfast shops and dessert shops ๐ฎ. If you get a chance to come to this place, you must try them! 4๏ธโฃ Jesmond Dene If you've read my previous notes ๐, you'll know how much I love it โฃ๏ธ. It's like a real-life fairy-tale forest. In autumn ๐, the ground is covered with golden leaves, which is perfect for taking photos! There are streams, waterfalls, and small bridges on the trail, which are super healing! You can also see squirrels ๐ฟ๏ธ and ducks. It's a park where locals come to take wedding photos, and it shouldn't be known only by the British! 5๏ธโฃ Exhibition Park It can be said to be an "oasis" in the city. It's very close to the city center, less than 10 minutes' walk from Haymarket Metro Station. It's perfect for picnics, sunbathing, and walking. Newcastle is not a city that everyone thinks of first, but it's precisely because of its "just right" and "not excessive" charm that I deeply fell in love with it. If you get a chance to come to the UK, don't miss this hidden gem of a city ๐. #WatchASunset #LookUpAtTheSunset99Times #Newcastle #NewcastleParks #WorkingInTheUK #SunsetCollector #MostBeautifulSunset #StudyingInNewcastle
