Beautiful Newcastle
Newcastle is really a laid-back city with excellent urban planning. Every time I visit, it brings me new surprises π. The first thing that struck me during this short holiday revisit was the addition of many new and beautiful houses, haha π. First stop: Newcastle Museum Set off at 8:30 a.m., and you can arrive around 10:30 a.m. The museum is not large, and it takes about an hour to look around π°οΈ. There are some facilities for children to play with, making it very suitable for taking kids out π¨π©π§π¦. Second stop: Signal box My child couldn't tear himself away when he saw the light rail π, so we chose this place for lunch. The food is just so-so and the prices are on the high side, but the location is right opposite the station, and there's a row of outdoor seats where you can watch the light rail coming and going. As a train-obsessed kid, he was extremely satisfiedβhe could sit there watching all day π. The restaurant is also great for taking photos πΈ, with a small fountain outside π¦. Next to the restaurant, there's a perfect photo spot facing the church on the hillside, which looks even more beautiful to the naked eye π. Third stop: Christ Church Cathedral The church is on a hillside and is quite large compared to others I've seen βͺ. It's open to the public for free, and taking photos is allowed without restrictions. However, there's a small graveyard at the back; those who mind can avoid it. We just played in the front area for a while π. Fourth stop: Newcastle Memorial Walk This is a well-maintained seaside footpath π. Due to its relatively high terrain, you can see the sea on one side and the urban landscape of Newcastle on the other. The hiking difficulty is only one star β, making it very suitable for bringing kids to run around and look for whales π. Fifth stop: Hickson Street Lookout This is a relatively niche viewing platform π. The entrance to get in is quite inconspicuous, but once you walk through the woods, you'll feel a sense of sudden openness π³. There's an artificial lawn laid out, which is great for taking photos. Tips: According to the route, you actually pass the sixth stop first, but if you want to take photos, it's recommended to come here first because it gets crowded later. Many people bring food here to watch the sunset ππ. The place is relatively small, so it's not good for taking photos when it's crowded π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ. Sixth stop: Merewether Ocean Baths After going around the whole route, you'll arrive here just in time for the sunset π . The afterglow dyes the houses by the sea golden, and the sunset glow merges with the sea, which is very healing π‘. There are few people in the evening in winter, and there's almost no one in the seaside pool, so you can take photos slowly πΈ. #SydneyLife #SydneyWithKids #MyRandomShots #SydneySurroundings #newcastle #NewcastleAustralia
