Newcastle Castle

Newcastle is located on the banks of the River Tyne, and its full name is Newcastle upon Tyne. As one of the former heavy industry hubs in the UK, the entire city exudes the profound charm of the steam era. However, I find it quite curious. When I came here from Edinburgh, which was packed with tourists from my home country during the National Day holiday, I noticed a sudden sharp drop in the number of tourists. It's clearly such a fun cityโ€”why is that? This vibrant city boasts a rich cultural heritage and numerous tourist attractions: โœ… Newcastle Castle The city of Newcastle gets its name from this castle. As a symbol of the city, the castle is open to visitors inside, making it an excellent place to gain an in-depth understanding of Newcastle's history. The top of the castle also offers a great vantage point for taking photos. โœ… Newcastle Cathedral Famous for its lantern tower, it is one of the most important religious buildings in the city. This over 900-year-old building is free to enter. โœ… Various bridges over the River Tyne The Tyne Bridge is the most famous among them. As Newcastle's most iconic bridge, it was inaugurated by King George V on October 10, 1928. It was once the world's largest single-span bridge and has a design similar to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. In addition to the Tyne Bridge, there are also the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, the High Level Bridge, the Millennium Bridge, and so on. It can even be called a "city of bridges". โœ… Newcastle University It is an excellent university, ranking 110th in the QS World University Rankings. Its buildings are very beautiful, and it can be included as one of the destinations if you have time. โœ… Tynemouth A seaside town in Newcastle, highly recommended! It is a place full of historical charm and natural beauty. Whether you explore the ancient castle or relax on the beach, it is a great choice. The beach is always filled with local people bringing their dogs to run around and play. The majestic waves ๐ŸŒŠ paired with the distant church create an unexpected sense of tranquility. #UK #Newcastle #Tynemouth
