๐ฌ๐ง Is Every Seafood Restaurant in Belfast This Huge & Fresh?
After seeing so many people recommend this place, I made a reservation even before arriving in Belfast. Even on a weekday night, several walk-in groups were turned away ๐ท โ so remember to book ahead! We started with half a dozen oysters ๐ฆช, lobster salad ๐ฅ, and seafood chowder ๐ฅฃ. The oysters were huge and plump โ I like adding a few drops of hot sauce to cut through the brininess. The langoustines were tricky to peel but worth it โ the texture is somewhere between shrimp and crab ๐ฆ, with a subtle ocean flavor and rich roe. So satisfying to suck out! The seafood chowder was creamy and loaded with goodies โ perfect with bread ๐ฅ. For mains, we had grilled sea bass ๐ and seafood pasta ๐ โ both were amazing! The sea bass was tender and not fishy at all, served over tenderstem broccoli ๐ฅฆ, snow peas ๐ซ, and potatoes ๐ฅ that had soaked up all the delicious juices. The skin was packed with seasoning and topped with bouncy prawns. The seafood pasta had MORE seafood than pasta โ besides four large scallops, it was filled with big chunks of shrimp and fish, all coated in a rich sauce. Incredible value! Dessert was panna cotta ๐ฎ โ each spoonful had the perfect balance of sweet-tart jam and creamy richness. A refreshing finish after a seafood feast! We also tried the house special beer ๐บ, named after the restaurant โ the perfect pairing with seafood. If youโre in Belfast, just go! ๐ฝ๏ธ: Mourne Seafood Bar ๐: 34-36 Bank St, Belfast BT1 1HL #BelfastFood #BelfastEats #BelfastDining #BelfastTravel #NorthernIreland #NorthernIrelandTravel
