π¬π§ Near the Cotswolds β A Restaurant That Hid Its Michelin Stars! βοΈ
Recently visited the Cotswolds and unexpectedly stayed in Cheltenham π‘ β a charming spa town known for its prestigious schools, about a 30-minute drive from Bourton-on-the-Water. π΄ This place offers classic French fine dining with a twist πΏ β expertly blending British local game and fresh countryside produce with French culinary techniques. We opted for the three-course menu, and everything from the ingredients to the sauces and service was exceptional. You can still feel the glow of its former two-Michelin-star glory! The meal included pre-dinner bites, cod, lamb, duck, and desserts. The appetizers alone were stunning! π¦ The Creedy Carver duck was incredibly juicy and without any gamey taste. π The cod, cooked simply with butter, melted in the mouth. π¨ Two desserts: a mango jelly roll and coffee-flavoured ice cream with crushed coffee biscuit crumbs β so delicious it deserved a round of applause! π Recently, Iβve been into bold flavours, so I went for the "all Blue" (cheese) option β which genuinely surprised the owner! π There werenβt many servers, and the owner was helping out herself β so the pace was relaxed but warm and attentive. The service felt personal and followed traditional French standards. π The restaurant is cozy with a subtle entrance. The interior leans toward a rustic yet stylish family-owned vibe β simple but tasteful. Most guests were locals, giving it an authentic feel. π° Price: Around Β£100 per person. β¨ Would definitely return on my next trip to the Cotswolds! #UK #London #Travel#CotswoldsEats #MichelinDining #FrenchCuisine #HiddenGems #UKFoodie #FineDining
