π¬π§ Revisiting Wollaton Hall in Nottingham
β Nottingham is one of the oldest cities in the UK. Every time I return to England, I make sure to meet up with my decade-long bestie here. π This time, I brought Qu Ge to Wollaton Hall and Deer Park. I fell in love with this estate two years ago β vast green fields, freely roaming deer herds, and itβs even a filming location for The Dark Knight Rises π¦. On sunny days, you can grab a coffee β, sit on a park bench, and lose yourself for hours. π Wollaton Hall was built in 1588 by Sir Francis Willoughby, a wealthy landowner and coal magnate. This extravagant Elizabethan mansion now houses the Nottingham Natural History Museum. Last time it was closed, but this time Qu Ge and I were lucky to visit ποΈ. Though compact, the museum is packed with exhibits β specimens of land, sea, and air animals, full of fascinating scientific knowledge. Qu Ge was totally absorbed and spent two hours exploring π¦π πΎ. Perfect for kids his age! π¦ Of course, the other highlight is the peaceful, undisturbed deer herds π¦. They even cross the roads freely β cars have to yield! You can get quite close for photos, but always keep a safe distance. π³ As we left today, sunlight sparkled on the leaves and grass πΏπ«, and dewdrops shimmered like tiny crystals β absolutely magical. π Nottingham Natural History Museum: Opening Hours: 11 AM - 4 PM Ticket Price: Free π Includes a gift shop and cafΓ©. Totally worth multiple visits β Qu Ge already said he wants to go back! #ExploreNature #Parks #Nottingham #UoN #UK #TravelUK #FamilyFriendly #OutdoorAdventure
