🇭🇺-🇦🇹-🇩🇪|3 Hours in Munich
Leica bought ✅ Pork knuckle eaten ✅ Beer drunk ✅😋 I broke my lens in Vienna and couldn’t find a replacement in stock anywhere. Thought I might as well upgrade my camera, so I planned a half-day trip to Munich. Hehe, ended up oversleeping and missed the morning train 🫠 Took three trains from Budapest and finally reached Munich at 6 PM 😭 Sprinted to Leica and grabbed the Q3 43 + tax refund form (camera stores in Munich close so early—all shut by 6 or 7 PM!) Haven’t fully figured it out yet, but even the test shots already feel amazing. It’s so lightweight, and it saves me from constantly craving new lenses. Truly the budget Leica for the happy broke photographer 😂 (Can’t afford Hasselblad 😭 Hasselblad Hasselblad Hasselblad…) Munich is SO delicious!! This place is called Augustiner-Keller, right next to Munich Central Station. Super convenient if you need to catch a train/bus. 🐖 The pork knuckle was incredibly fragrant—the outer layer was thin and crispy, while the inner skin was soft and tender like braised pig’s feet. Nothing like those dry, hard, jaw-workout German knuckles you get in the UK 😮💨 🍺 The beer was great too—really refreshing. I enjoyed it so much I even changed my bus booking to keep drinking till closing. The one I had was just called something starting with “Augustiner”—not sure exactly which type. The grandpa at the next table ordered it for me 😊 The huge one in is called "Ruß’n", lemonade-style. People who don’t like beer might still enjoy this. The Kaiserschmarrn (emperor’s pancake) 🥞 was highly recommended by that same grandpa. I’d already tried it at Demel in Vienna and wasn’t too curious, but he insisted three times so I gave in… and it was SO GOOD!!! A crispier, caramelized version of Demel’s. (The train from Salzburg to Munich was gorgeous—snowy mountains all the way ❄️🏔️) #SoloTrip #StudyAbroadLife #Munich #GermanFood #ExtremeTravel #Backpacker #LeicaQ #UKStudent #TravelDiary #TrainJourney
