📌 SAVE: MUNICH MINI GUIDE 🇩🇪 Whether exploring Germany at length or making a layover to another destination in Europe, a few days in the Bavarian Capital City, Munich, is one of my top picks. 🏢 STAY: @bayerischerhof_munich This beautiful, historical hotel has old world charm and the best views in the city 🍺 DRINK: @augustinerbraeu_muenchen This traditional Biergarten has a cheerful Bavarian vibe and the tastiest beer in Munich 🥨 EAT: @ratskellermuenchen Nothing tastes better than a warm Bavarian Pretzel here after a day of sightseeing 🗺️ SEE: Munich is delightfully walkable. Start at Marienplatz then follow the steeples, spires and towers to see the city’s many magnificent churches, chapels and cathedrals. Came twice!! And its absolutely amazing!! Worth our visit to munich! On our way to hotel from bus station, i saw a lot of people coming in and out, after check in, i check out the google map and saw very good reviews, excited to try out our 1st dinner, The crew were very friendly and approachable, at 1st they assigned us outside which is so full of people and its so fun, but opted to stay inside due to smoke (asthmatic), they accomodated our request & it was so huge and it was soo historically antique vibe! The food was sooooo great!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 They have english and german menu, it was easy to order. Had to try for their beers! 😋 Our last night to munich, had to go back, it was a full night and quite started to rain, they told us to go down stairs, at first it was creepy, small spiral stairs to go down, we are hearing some party down ( got afraid i have daughter with us, we dont know wat could have been underground 🤪✌🏻) but to our surprise it was worth to go down! The cellar vibes and the band was making it all worth, it was with full house and so fun!! See u next oktoberfest! Can’t wait!! 🥰

I would definitely recommend the place to anyone looking to try German delicacy. The food, ambience, and the atmosphere is just perfect for you to feel like eating in Germany. The vibe of the place is the most Bavarian thing you will probably ever experience. We ordered the Jungschweinebraten which is basically roasted pork served with Kartoffel Knödel (potato dumplings) and Rotkohl (red cabbage). We also ordered the Schweinshaxe which is pork knuckle also served with Kartoffel Knödel but this one is served with Sauerkraut (german coleslaw). I can definitely say both of them were amazing! The Schweinebraten was tender and tasty, but I would say the sauce was somewhat bland. The Schweinshaxe’s skin was crispy, with tender and juicy meat inside. My friends said the beer was also good. The price was reasonable to be eating in a place with a lot of history and such atmosphere and also good food. I would recommend you to reserve a table before going to the place as it is always packed, but yes… you can walk in and wait for a table too. Great place to eat in! A must try when visiting Munich!

Now I’m not expecting the same friendliness from folks like in the US, Philippines or France (I was given a heads up) but some of the German servers do say hallo and Guten Tag but then again, some don’t. I guess this could be cultural, it could be that there’s a language barrier and finally it could be that the server may just not like you. On this occasion we ordered the homemade pork filled with onion, cucumbers and it came with red cabbage and boiled potatoes. It was just ok and was a solid three (3) stars. I personally got the (Bavarian) white sausages and the “freshly” baked pretzel, served with sweet mustard. This was a 3.5. The pretzel wasn’t warm at all and didn’t seem too fresh. I also got the Augistiner Hell bier, which was light and refreshing. I’d give this a 5, it was cold and crisp so I say Ja! (Yes!). Ok now here is the rub, the server, well she was unfriendly from the onset, and that’s ok, we’re here to eat, she’s not a long awaited friend. But she elected to not to give us the lunch menu with the specials, we actually found it on the table. She had given us the full price menus. Finally, when our bill came, she automatically rang up our bill and added a tip. What the? I guess you could say strike three, we’ve had many good experiences but we were planning to give her a tip and she helped herself. Note: Usually they give you the little credit card machine to show you the amount and wait for you to tell them the tip amount. She just gave us a receipt and provided tip for herself. Others from our group mentioned the same thing and they gave cash tips, not knowing that she helped herself. So in conclusion, the bier was sehr gut (Very good), the food was fine and the service was dishonest.
