🇮🇸 Reykjavik, Iceland One-Day Tour

Reykjavik feels peaceful with its small population, but as night falls, shops close early while bars come alive—bustling until 3 or 4 AM! 🌆 Still, the city under the glow of the midnight sun is absolutely stunning. We stayed at Hotel Fron on Laugavegur Street. It’s common to see people zipping around on electric scooters 🛴—probably the most unique way to get around Reykjavik! The location was perfect for food and shopping, with plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops. The most popular spot is the souvenir store with two polar bears at the entrance 🐻❄️. Don’t miss Bónus (the Piggy Supermarket) on the same street—their OmNom chocolate is a must-buy 🍫, cheaper here than at the airport, as a friendly local strongly recommended! Rainbow Street 🌈 is one of the iconic spots you can’t miss. Paired with rows of colorful houses, it feels like stepping into a fairy tale. Though shorter than expected, the street leads right up to Hallgrímskirkja . Church entry is free, but the viewing platform costs 1000 ISK for adults and 100 ISK for children—tickets are sold at the office on the first floor. There are many bread bowl restaurants in the city. We couldn’t visit the one from the show Divas Hit the Road due to renovations, but we tried Svarta Kaffid on Laugavegur. Their lamb soup inside the bread bowl was tasty 🥣, though the bread itself was just okay—honestly, I prefer sliced bread 😅. Reykjavik’s streets are filled with creative graffiti 🎨—every alley has its own charm. You can park anywhere with marked lines, but pay attention to zones and rates—prices vary by area and time. For example, P2 is free on weekends and weekday evenings. Download the Parka app 📱, register your license plate and credit card, and you can check zones, log your parking time, and pay automatically. It works at attractions across Iceland—super convenient! #OffTheBeatenPath #Reykjavik #IcelandTravel #IcelandGuide #IcelandRoadTrip #IcelandFood
