๐ฎ๐น A Century-Old Gem๏ฝ๐บ๐ธ Philly, Youโve Been Hiding This So Well!
Ever since I was blown away by Isgro's Cannoli (see my other post!), Iโve been wanting to try another historic Italian bakery. Termini Bros Bakery started in 1921 when two Sicilian brothers opened their first shop in South Philadelphia. They became famous for cannoli and wedding cakes, later expanding their offerings during wartime shortages. Today, it's not just a bakery โ it's a Philly landmark ๐บ๏ธ. Of course, beyond its history, the authentic Italian flavors are impeccable! ๐ NY Cheesecake โ $6 Seems like many Italian bakeries excel at New York cheesecake โ and this is the best Iโve had in Philly! Incredibly smooth, not too heavy or sweet. The 6-inch for $20 is a steal โ highly recommend. ๐ Tiramisu Pastry โ $7 An Italian bakeryโs tiramisu never disappoints ๐. Two layers of cream + two layers of super moist cake โ sweetness mainly from the cake. I found it just right, though my mom thought it was on the sweeter side. Still, we both loved it โ a definite repurchase. ๐ Red Velvet Pastry โ $7 Too pretty to pass up! Iโve never really known what red velvet tastes likeโฆ two layers of cream cheese + red velvet cake. Heavier and sweeter than the tiramisu, but worth trying. ๐ Limoncello Pastry โ $7 Lemon liqueur cake โ two layers of lemon cream mousse + lighter sponge. Subtle lemon tartness with simple syrup sweetness โ sweeter than red velvet. I wished it was tangier, but lemon fans might enjoy. Besides pastries, their pound cakes and full-size cakes look amazing too โ just too big for now. They also sell cute, Philly-themed cookie tins โ perfect as souvenirs ๐! ๐ด Termini Bros Bakery ๐ Reading Terminal location โ 12 St & Filbert St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 ๐ฐ ~$1โ10 per person #Philly #PhillyEats #TerminiBros #HistoricBakery #ItalianDesserts #PhillyLandmark #CakeLover ๐ฐ
