🇯🇵 Michelin-Recommended Lyon-Style French Cuisine with a Twist
I booked a French restaurant with great reviews and excellent value for money, specializing in cuisine from Lyon, a city in southeastern France. The first challenge came with the à la carte menu. I recognized the katakana on the menu, but I had no idea what the dishes actually were. The staff had to explain each one to me throughout the meal. 📖 The charcoal-grilled pork belly salad was a delightful surprise. The pork was perfectly cooked, with no trace of gaminess, and the marbling of fat and lean meat made it incredibly aromatic! 🍖 The deep-fried snails had a rich and complex texture. The soup, finished with a touch of mint oil, was both hearty and refreshing. 🥣 The main course featured a savory mashed potato with chestnut and sausage sauce, a seasonal dish of mushroom, chicken, and bacon French pancake with a smoky flavor, and a unique and creative baked fish cake with a distinctive texture. 🍖 The olive oil, cream, and cheese dip was a hit with my friends, who raved about it so much that they asked if the cheese was available for purchase. Unfortunately, it was homemade, and I didn't remember the recipe the staff shared. 🧀 The final dessert was a true indulgence. The outer layer was warm chocolate mousse, filled with pistachio ice cream, topped with caramelized nut shards, and accompanied by chocolate brownie. This massive bowl of calorie-laden goodness was a guilty pleasure. 🍫 The white cheese with citrus and fruit platter was incredibly refreshing, and the rum-soaked baba, paired with cream, was sweet and aromatic. 🍋 The weekend lunch set, including service charge, cost around 6000 🌸 per person. Considering the portion sizes and quality of the dishes, it was an excellent value. 💰 📍LUGDUNUM Bouchon Lyonnais #TokyoFoodie #TokyoEats #TokyoFoodAdventures #KagurazakaCuisine #FrenchCuisine #Lyon
