π°π· Hongdae Yeonnam-dong Fried Pork Trotters π
Hi everyone! This pig lover found an amazing pork trotter spot β delicious and super affordable! Located in Ktown near Hollywood, a $68 set for four with a whole table full of pork trotters π· Itβs the first LA branch of Yeonnam-dong 1987 Fried Pork Trotters, a hit from Hongdae, Seoul! π PINK PIG JOKBAL νν¬νΌκ·Έ μ‘±λ° π 379 N Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90004 π ΏοΈ Free parking behind the shop + street parking available Half & Half Pork Trotter Set Labeled for two but we couldnβt finish half β includes 6 banchan, lettuce, rice bento, mixed noodles, and bean sprout soup. We got half fried trotters + half spicy trotters. They use the pork hock, so thereβs almost no bone, and they even add rice cakes! One plate has at least 1.5 pork hocks β enough for 3β4 people. The trotters are cleaned meticulously β the owner said they remove hair in four steps, so the skin is glossy and hair-free β¨ The fried trotters are crispy outside, tender and sticky inside β the meat stays juicy, not dry at all. Eat them plain, dipped in ssamjang, or wrapped in lettuce with kimchi β all delicious π The spicy trotters (we got mild but still spicy) are less crispy β depends on your preference. The original braised flavor is rich and savory, with a hint of Chinese spices like star anise β no porky smell at all π· Mussel Soup Warm mussel soup π² with a touch of Cheongyang chili for mild heat and freshness. Comes with at least 10 plump mussels β light, savory, and perfect for cutting through the richness of the pork. Potato Pancake Surprisingly flour-free shredded potato pancake β fried until crispy and topped with cheese π§ This place is already popular with young people in Hongdae, Seoul! While traditional Korean trotters are braised, theirs are braised AND fried β more texture and flavor. With all the sides, it never feels heavy or greasy. Plus, no porky odor β and currently the only spot in LA doing it this way! π° Under $20 per person β such a steal! Highly recommended by this pig lover π½ They also have single-serving bento with pork rice, banchan, and soup π± #LAExplorer #LAFood #LAEats #LANewRestaurant #KtownEats #KtownLAFood #LAPorkTrotters
