🇲🇽 Mexico Travel Tips 💡
💱 Currency Exchange: At Guadalajara Airport, 1 USD ≈ 16.1 MXN, but in the city, it's around 19.2 MXN. Exchanging RMB → USD → MXN gives a poor rate 💸. Better to use cards directly 💳. If you must exchange cash, do it in small amounts or wait till you’re in the city. 🚍 Public Transport: Guadalajara Airport → City Center:Bus fare = 10 MXN (exact change needed—driver doesn’t give change 🚌). The bus stop is 200m from the airport, next to Felix. Taxis from the airport must be paid at the counter first 🚕—around 400 MXN to downtown. Morning buses are a bit crowded but generally safe. Avoid taking buses at night. Guadalajara L3 Historic Zone → New Bus Station:Metro = 10 MXN. Frequent, fast, and convenient—no need for a taxi 🚇. Guanajuato Bus Station → City Center:Bus = 11 MXN (driver gives change!). The bus stop is right outside the station—takes about 30 mins to reach downtown Guanajuato. 🎫 Intercity Bus Tickets: For routes like Guadalajara → Guanajuato → San Miguel → Mexico City, Primera Plus offers the best prices 💰. E.g., Online ticket: 713 MXN; counter price: 750 MXN. You can select seats in advance and get a QR code for boarding 🎟️. Book here: Compra Tus Boletos en Primera Plus - PrimeraPlus 📶 SIM Cards: Telcel SIM: 80 MXN for 26 days 📞. According to staff, it offers unlimited data (not verified 🤔). 🏨 Hotel Recommendations: Guadalajara: Stay near the historic zone. Hotel Dali Plaza Ejecutivo is great value—safe, convenient, and within walking distance to attractions 🏙️. Guanajuato: Hotel Jardín de Cervantes is highly recommended. Buses from the station stop right in front 🚌. Surrounded by cafes and restaurants—super convenient! Avoid staying in narrow uphill alleys—less safe at night. 🌮 Food Recs: Guanajuato has a large mercado (market) with multiple taco stalls 🥙. Tacos cost 25–35 MXN—generous portions, authentic, and delicious! Possibly the best tacos I’ve had in Mexico 😋. 👮 Safety: Both Guadalajara and Guanajuato have visible police patrols 👮♂️. San Miguel is also generally safe. But in Mexico City, be more cautious 🧐. Avoid small alleys at night—most issues happen when you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time. Stay aware of your surroundings and avoid going out after dark. Solo female travelers can still enjoy the trip—just be mindful and enjoy the journey and the tacos! 🌮❤️ #Travel #MexicoTravel #MexicoGuide #SafetyTips
