Before arriving, I’d heard plenty about Lagos’ notorious 🚨 vibes—so my itinerary prioritized security arrangements. ✈️ The Journey Flight: Midnight Air Peace from Freetown (delayed, as expected). Arrival: 4 AM in Lagos, rain drizzling. Sprinted to the terminal—cleared immigration oddly fast (no fingerprints, unlike others). 🌆 Lagos: 2.5 Days of Caution Routine: Work → Hotel. Even "walks" meant laps around the *hotel’s 2nd-floor terrace* (safety first!). Sights: The Third Mainland Bridge, Lekki Port, and the jarring skyscraper vs. slum contrasts. Regret? Too carsick to see more of Africa’s largest megacity. 🛫 Domestic Flight Chaos Lagos Domestic Airport: Resembled a ’00s Chinese bus station. Delay Saga: Original flight delayed 3+ hrs—switched to another (still delayed, but only 1 hr). Got my first handwritten boarding pass (adorably sloppy). 🌇 Abuja: Sunset & Stress Highway Views: Rolling hills, grazing cattle—golden-hour magic.
