🇳🇱 Groningen Museum – A Must-Visit in the Netherlands! 🏛️✨
The Groninger Museum instantly caught my eye with its postmodern architecture—and the inside is just as striking! 🎨 Happened to visit during its 150th-anniversary celebrations, and here’s why it’s worth a deep dive: 🌟 Highlights 1️⃣ Asia-Focused Exhibits 🌏 The most comprehensive display of Chinese & Japanese culture I’ve seen in Dutch museums! Curved white fabric partitions + guzheng (Chinese zither) music playing on loop 🎶 Even watched an English-dubbed "Eight Immortals" and "Three Friends of Winter" stories—quirky translations included! 2️⃣ Museum x De Pot Collaboration 🏗️ A recreated warehouse zone with some very abstract pieces (classic modern art vibes). 3️⃣ Groningen’s History in Objects 📜 From Neolithic artifacts → Roman popes → religious upheaval → Dutch East India Company → modern energy city (with a tragic mining explosion). Each era gets one key artifact—super well-organized! 4️⃣ Kid’s Biennale (150th Anniversary Special) 👧🧒 Two floors of interactive exhibits (super fun but loud—ear-sensitive folks, beware! 🚨). 5️⃣ Young Staff, Fewer Crowds 👩🎨 Unlike other Dutch museums, this one has more young employees and fewer visitors (maybe timing?). Highly recommend if you’re nearby! Bonus Observation 🤔 The AH supermarket in the city center was so grandly decorated, I almost mistook it for a museum! 🛒😂 #Groningen #DutchMuseums #Museumkaart #NetherlandsTravel 🇳🇱
