🇳🇿 Hiking the Speargrass Track – A True Adventure! 🌲💦

Once you enter the forested area, the trail becomes easier and more straightforward 🌲👣. While this route is recommended by DOC (Department of Conservation) as a safer alternative to Robert Ridge in bad weather, it’s still considered a hard track—challenging and demanding on its own! ⚠️ Important Note: Hiking to Angelus Hut in winter or early spring requires advanced alpine experience and professional equipment 🧊⛑️ . Without these, you could face serious risks. I tried this trail in early spring with snow still covering the ridges ❄️🏔️ —and after two slips that sprained my ankle, I made the tough call to turn back 🚑😢.
