๐บ๐ธ๏ฝ Affordable Omakase Spots in NYC ๐ฃ
Hereโs a roundup of my favorite budget-friendly omakase experiences in New York โ perfect for sushi lovers without the Michelin-star price tag! ๐ Shihou (Upper West Side location) We walked in on a Saturday lunch without a reservation and got seated. The first course was a stunning caviar rice bowl โ absolutely delicious! Everything that followed was fresh, delicate, and thoughtfully prepared. Service was warm, and the second-floor space felt intimate and calm. ๐ฃ 9-piece omakase โ just enough for a light lunch (big eaters might want to add extra). ๐ฐ $49 for lunch โ honestly, for this quality and experience, itโs a steal! If I worked nearby, Iโd be here regularly. ๐ Tsumo This spot is surprisingly popular โ our dinner reservation was packed! The sushi was good, though nothing extraordinary. But at $58 per person, expectations stay realistic. ๐ Located near Little India, and right next door is NYC Pizza Kitchen โ which we tried while waiting (it was freezing outside!). Their pizza and soup were a delicious, happy accident. If you canโt get into Tsumo, the pizza spot is a worthy backup! ๐ Shiki Omakase I visited last summer and really enjoyed it โ I actually meant to return but accidentally went to Shihou instead! The chef was a friendly Chinese uncle, and we chatted between courses. ๐ฐ Options: $65 for 12 pieces or $100 for 17 pieces We went with the $65 set and were pleasantly full. Not sure if reservations are needed for lunch โ it wasnโt too busy when I went. Definitely recommend! Whether you're a student, a traveler, or just craving quality sushi without breaking the bank โ these three deliver fresh fish, welcoming vibes, and real value. ๐ฑโจ #Omakase #JapaneseFood #SushiLovers #StudyAbroadEats #NYCOnABudget #NYCEats #AffordableLuxury #FoodDiaries #EatLikeALocal
