🇺🇸 Arkansas | Little Rock 3-Stop Tour !!!🤓
Spent half a day wandering around Little Rock~ Here’s a quick recap 📝 📍 First Stop——Asian House A restaurant near our hotel 🏨 Address: 612 Office Park Dr, Bryant, AR 72022😊 The place is fairly spacious with dine-in options. Ordered stir-fried rice noodles + shrimp fried rice 🍤 The owner was super sweet and gave us free hot & sour soup! 😋 ➡️ Review Noodles were good + shrimp was a bit fishy (be cautious) + soup was flavorful 👍 📍 Second Stop——Little Rock Central High School Historic site of the "Little Rock Nine" event 🏫✊ A landmark in the American Civil Rights Movement. ➡️ Brief History In 1957, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional. However, the state’s governor blocked nine Black students from entering the school and even deployed the National Guard 🚫. Despite court intervention, white mobs continued protests. President Eisenhower then sent the 101st Airborne Division to protect the students. The nine finally entered under military escort, enforcing desegregation—a pivotal moment in U.S. history. ➡️ Review There’s a visitor center—check online for guided tours 🎓. We drove by and walked outside. Through the glass doors, you can see international flags inside. At the famous photo spot, many Black visitors were taking pictures—the historical weight felt deeply moving. 🖤🙏 📍 Third Stop——Arkansas State Capitol The Arkansas State Capitol building 🏛️ Compared to those in Austin and Oklahoma, this one looks simpler outside. No statue on top (due to budget constraints 💸), but a 24K gold-plated copper acorn sits there—symbolizing Arkansas’ forests 🌳🍂 The main entrance has 3 bronze doors, representing the state’s three eras: 【Colonial】—【Territorial】—【Statehood】 Google it if you’re curious! ➡️ Review Pretty big! The lobby is free to enter, but we skipped it.😗 Lawn sculptures have historical notes in English. The building faces a straight road with wide-open views.. 🛣️😍 #USA #LittleRock#LittleRockNine #CivilRightsHistory #USLandmarks #TravelGram #ArkansasTourism #HistoricSites #FoodReview #SouthernUSA
