πΏ Hidden Gem in the U.S. β Little Rock, Arkansas ποΈ
During a pandemic road trip through the American heartland, I discovered many underrated yet fascinating cities. Little Rock left a deep impression β quiet, natural, and affluent. Itβs only an hour away from Hot Springs National Park (the smallest national park in the U.S.!). We spent two relaxed days here, and all travel fatigue just melted away~~ πβ¨ π¨ Hotel Recommendation: Aloft Little Rock West (part of Marriott) We booked a package that included a bottle of wine per night and a $10 Starbucks voucher βπ·. The first photo shows the forest right outside the hotel β we caught a light rain during our stay, and the autumn vibe was instantly magical ππ§. π Day Trips: Not a ton to do downtown, but near our hotel was a large plaza with dining and shopping options. Thereβs also an outlet mall about 10 minutes away by car ποΈ. Hot Springs National Park: We originally planned to stay in the park, but the conditions were pretty basic ποΈ. It was once a rehabilitation center for soldiers after WWI. The natural hot spring water flowing down from the mountain was amazing though! We lucked out and booked a private bathhouse at 5 PM β very humble setting, but fun to experience the βAmerican Hokkaidoβ πβ¨οΈ. βͺ Anthony Chapel & Gardens: Part of the University of Arkansas, nestled deep in the woods π³. Thereβs also a small park nearby with peacocks roaming freely π¦! We arrived just after the rain β the air smelled sweet and fresh π. π£ Restaurant Recommendation: After days of heavy Southern BBQ and steak, I was craving something light. Kemuri β the top-rated Japanese spot in town β did not disappoint! They offer outdoor seating (dog-friendly πΆ), and the surrounding neighborhood is beautiful with charming houses that felt like a German village. Perfect place to detox from all the meat ππ±. #LittleRock #Arkansas #HiddenGems #RoadTrip #HotSprings #NationalPark #TravelUSA
