๐บ๐ธ Authentic Hidden Gem Korean Restaurant in LA | Gung Jung
Located in Walnut, very close to Rowland Heights (RH)! Saw so many recommendations online and finally went to try it out. ๐ง๐ We ordered the Pigโs Trotters, Korean Seafood Pancake, Spicy Beef Intestines Hot Pot, Spicy Mix Buckwheat Noodles, and Buckwheat Ice Noodles. Here are my personal recommendations: 1๏ธโฃ Pigโs Trotters ๐๐๐๐๐ No. 14 โ The plate was huge, I was totally shocked! ๐ฒ The pigโs trotters are sliced thin. The marinade is light, letting the original flavor of the meat stand out. Served with spicy radishโperfect for cutting the richness! ๐ทโจ 2๏ธโฃ Korean Seafood Pancake ๐๐๐๐๐ No. 17 โ This seafood pancake is another must-try! It arrived as one big, sizzling, oil-fragrant pancake, and the staff auntie cut it into six pieces right at the table. The combo of seafood, onion, and crispy batter is super flavorful! ๐ฆ๐ง ๐ฎ 3๏ธโฃ Spicy Beef Intestines Hot Pot ๐๐๐๐๐ No. 27 โ They have so many hot pot options, available in single or group servings. The beef intestines are cleaned very well. The base includes veggies, tofu, and mushrooms, topped with lots of perilla leaves. Paired with the spicy, savory brothโitโs a perfect match! ๐ฒ๐ฅ 4๏ธโฃ Spicy Mix Buckwheat Noodles & Buckwheat Ice Noodles ๐๐๐๐๐ No. 31 & 32 โ How could we miss the cold noodles the owner highly recommended? We tried both the spicy and non-spicy versions. Chewy buckwheat noodles served over crushed ice, topped with thin beef slices, cucumber strips, and half a boiled egg. So refreshing, with or without the Korean spicy sauceโa summer essential! ๐โ๏ธ Price is around $40 per personโvery affordable! Great for sharing with friends so you can try more dishes. Their side dishes are also worth mentioningโunique and tasty. Felt like I was in a Korean variety show! ๐บ๐ฅ Have you been to Gung Jung? Whatโs your favorite Korean dish in LA?
