🇺🇸 Boston | Sandwich Anatomy 🥪

Does anyone else eat sandwiches by separating the fillings from the bread and having them layer by layer? The chef would probably be heartbroken if they knew… hahaha 😂 🥪 Smoot Standard (313 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139) 🥑 Avo Cucumber Sandwich Sounds super simple and ordinary—avocado and cucumber—but sometimes simplicity has its own charm. The ingredients are fresh, and the taste is light and pleasant. 🍅 Caprese-Inspired Attempt I’ve been craving Caprese for a while, and since I didn’t want to walk all the way to Circus, I tried Smoot’s modified version (the original is prosciutto mozzarella with pistachio jam). I asked to replace the prosciutto with tomatoes, thinking, “Isn’t this basically Caprese now?” Well… sometimes being too clever backfires 😅. I didn’t notice that the sandwich originally comes with pistachio jam—thought it might be a nice touch, but it turned out to be the downfall… It was super sweet. By the end, I had to set aside the tomato slices drenched in the jam just to finish the sandwich. I can’t even imagine what the original version with prosciutto and this overly sweet syrup would taste like… Though, who knows, it might actually be delicious! Hahaha. #BostonFood #SandwichLover #FoodReview #BostonEats #CambridgeMA #FoodieLife
