Duke Studentโ€™s Holiday Trip Series โ€“ Boston Edition ๐ŸŽ’ Part 1 (Check my profile for Part 2! ๐Ÿ‘€) Day 1๏ธโƒฃ Landed in the morning and headed straight to #Tatte for brunch ๐Ÿฅ‘๐Ÿณ I got the lamb meatball shakshuka โ€“ so good! My friends ordered salmon fried rice and avocado toast โ€“ also delicious! Then visited the #MFA (Museum of Fine Arts) ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Allow 3โ€“4 hours (buy tickets on Taobao for a discount!) Galleries: Ancient Rome, Asia, Americas, Egypt (mummies! ๐Ÿ˜), and a special Dali exhibit Also features works by Monet, Van Gogh, and more โ€“ keep an eye out! Right next to MFA is the Boston Public Library (free entry) ๐Ÿ“šโœจ Absolutely stunning โ€“ redefined what a library can be! A Berklee student was singing in the garden ๐ŸŽถ Such a inspiring atmosphere for lifelong learning โ€“ Bostonians are lucky! Dinner at Jumbo Seafood in Chinatown ๐Ÿฅข Lobster sticky rice, black pepper beef ribs, conch with chives, General Tsoโ€™s chicken โ€“ all tasty but a bit pricey ๐Ÿ’ธ Day 2๏ธโƒฃ Went straight to #Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (student tickets available on-site) A private museum built by a wealthy woman 100+ years ago The garden is gorgeous โ€“ super photogenic! ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ“ธ Paintings, furniture, and decorative arts are all worth seeing She had an eye for Italian art before it was trendy ๐Ÿ‘ Lunch at Nine Senses near Harvard โ€“ a Thai restaurant ๐Ÿ› Best yellow curry Iโ€™ve had in the US! Friendโ€™s pineapple fried rice was also great A Harvard student friend gave us a campus tour ๐ŸŽ“ Classic red-brick buildings everywhere The main library allows one student to bring four guests inside ๐Ÿ“– Amazing newspaper archives (NY Times, etc.) โ€“ perfect for research! Bought some merch โ€“ Harvard students get a 15% discount (Duke, why donโ€™t we have this? ๐Ÿ˜ญ) Accommodation Tip: Stay in downtown Boston ๐Ÿ™๏ธ Boston might be the best U.S. city for city walking ๐Ÿšถโ™€๏ธ It blends nature and culture perfectly โ€“ you work to live, and live to explore.
