πΊπΈ Boston Chinese Restaurant Review π₯π₯’
With Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, I'm feeling extra homesick β only Chinese food can soothe this mood π₯Ή Found some photos from last month's restaurant visits β time for a personal flavor review! Allston Chuan Shan Jia βββ The pickled pepper chicken and stir-fried cabbage were especially delicious! For someone from Southern Jiangsu like me, it was a bit spicy π₯ Don't recommend the Maoxuewang (duck blood chili pot)! The dish was overly oily with intense numbing spice (even after requesting the mildest version). Chinatown Yi Guo Ta Xiang ββββ I usually order mild versions here! Whenever I want a little spice, I choose this spot. Their portions are quite large, making it hard to decide what to get when dining alone π β¨ Lao Gan Ma Fried Eggs π³ β absolutely heavenly! β¨ Pan-fried Chili Eggplant with Century Egg π and Stir-fried Pork β timeless classics with rich, layered flavors. Chinatown Empire Garden Restaurant βββ This is my hidden gem π΄ β right next to home and the Asian supermarket. Though it's often quiet, the value and taste are excellent. One of their chefs has 40 years of culinary experience in Hong Kong π¨βπ³ Their shrimp dumplings are generously filled, and the beef brisket is very authentic. But be careful β sometimes the dish quality can be inconsistent... Chinatown Liuyishou Hotpot ββ Personally, I only found their fried rice and crispy fried pork belly tasty. The hotpot broths are somewhat bland, but well... it's still hotpot π² Cambridge Dumpling House ββββ Almost every dish here is reliable, well-suited to Wu Chinese regional tastes. The Three Cup Chicken was strongly recommended by my senior β a must-order every time! Most surprisingly, they actually have wine-scented pea shoots!! Instant transport back to Shanghai π #ChineseFood #Foodie #MidAutumnFestival #ComfortFood #InternationalStudentEats #ChineseCuisineMagic #StudyAbroadLife #BostonLife #BostonEats #USA
