๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Hidden Gem in DC: Renwick Gallery ๐Ÿ’•

Finally found the time on a Tuesday afternoon to visit this gallery. The exhibition ends on May 13th, so I had to make the most of the last week or so. It's great that this gallery offers free admission all year round. DC is filled with such museums and exhibition spacesโ€”such a rich cultural resource! ๐ŸŒŸ Located near the White House, security is a bit stricter when entering the gallery. The guards are very thorough but also reassuring. I encountered some really nice security staff who not only explained the exhibition's background in detail but also gave me tips on how to navigate the exhibit. Itโ€™s heartwarming to meet so many kind and enthusiastic people lately. ๐Ÿฅฐ The current exhibition is titled "We Gather at the Edge: Contemporary Quilts by Black Women Artists." It tells many stories about racial conflicts in American history. On the first floor, one quote from a piece stopped me in my tracks: "We are all warmed by the same sun." It was a touching moment, reminding me that despite our different backgrounds, we all seek the same warmth and hope. โ˜€๏ธ Heading upstairs to the second floor, you'll enter the P1 exhibition area. The vibrant, colorful installation art is visually stunning and dreamlike. Across from it, the P2 section features neon and light-filled walls. The quotes on the walls are thought-provoking and worth taking the time to reflect on. ๐Ÿ’ก ๐Ÿ“ Renwick Gallery 1661 Pennsylvania Avenue NW #1, Washington, DC 20006 #DCExhibitions #FreeMuseum #ContemporaryArt #FemaleArtists #ArtInDailyLife #GalleryVisit #DC #ArtExhibition #RenwickGallery #ArtThatMakesYouLookUp
