Washington • Oyster Oyster Vegetarian Michelin Super Delicious❗

💰 Tasting menu $135+tax tip If anyone skips this place just because it’s vegetarian⭐️, I’d be really sad, okay? I’ve tried quite a few vegetarian⭐️ restaurants, but not many make the dishes this delicious! No wonder it’s 🔥 popular. Upon entering, they offered a welcome drink—a green, sour vegetable juice (a bit hard to drink, haha, had to pinch my nose and gulp it down). The first appetizer: Celery crumble in a bite-sized puff pastry, oyster🦪 + kimchi, black garlic stuffed steamed buckwheat buns? Flower rolls? + sesame ginger crumbs. All three bites were interesting—crispy, refreshing, and soft, with a variety of textures. I especially loved the buns; maybe it’s the 🇨🇳 carb-loving DNA! And the oyster🦪 was a nice touch, small but very fresh and sweet! The second course, green pea + tomato🍅 broth, simple but refreshing vegetables. The third course, asparagus with fried garlic rice + broccoli bread (yes, it had a hint of broccoli🥦 flavor), was my favorite of the night! The garlic-infused rice was more and more flavorful with each bite! The fourth course, pumpkin seed gnocchi + chicken of the woods, was an eye-opener. “Chicken of the woods” is a type of mushroom that tastes like chicken meat, also known as sulfur shelf. The pumpkin seed gnocchi tasted more like little buns, lacking the chewiness of gluten but with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Paired with sautéed mushroom bits, it really felt like a meat dish, very fragrant! The fifth course entered dessert territory: rhubarb cake with strawberries, lemons, and elderflower, a series of sweet and sour ingredients, very refreshing. They also sent us off with a mushroom chocolate cookie~bitter but not greasy, and very tasty. Overall, the portions were small, just enough for a 60% full feeling, but the price was reasonable, and the creativity won! It’s not easy to season vegetarian dishes in such a variety of ways! This place deserves its⭐️! #MichelinRestaurant #HiddenGem #AmbianceRestaurant #GlobalEatingSquad #VegetarianRestaurant #WashingtonDCFood #MichelinOneStar #Michelin #FoodExploration #DMVFood
